HUP Cardboard Canoe Race
Cardboard Race 2026
Competitors must construct a canoe (or boat) before the event date. Let your creativity take control of you!
Approved Materials allowed to be used: Corrugated Cardboard, Duct Tape, Water-Soluble Caulk or Sealant, Water-Based Wood Glue, Water-Soluble Outdoor Latex-Based Primer/Paint
Rules and Regulations
Materials that will NOT be allowed are: Foam, Plastic or Wood (Exception for Wooden Paddles to row the boat).
Please do not use anything hazardous to you or the environment. Each boat MUST have one captain and at least one crew member. There is a minimum of two people per boat and a maximum of
six people including the captain.
ALL participants must be AT LEAST 12 years old (anyone under
the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by their parent/legal guardian), wear a life jacket provided by Oscoda Canoe Rental and closed-toe shoes.
Children under the age of 14 must have an adult in the
canoe with them at all time.
Children under the age of 11 are NOT able to participate.
Each occupant must be visible while the boat is in the water. Oscoda Dive and Rescue will be on site.
Alcohol is PROHIBITED!!
